SIP here i come!
Am i the only one so excited and eager to do medicine SIP? haha! maybe i just can't wait to get outta surg wif an absolutely despisable surgeon... no la... tt's only part of the reason...
medicine SIP sounds hectic and all... especially since i'll be posted to one of the busiest hospitals around. but isn't it exciting to actually own a chop and finally be able to write in the case notes and chop ur big name there? haha... ok i'm mad. so happee abt a cheap thrill... which comes with great consequences too.
and we finally get to be directly involved in patient care! take blood for them, talk to them, set drips for them, know what's happening to them the whole admission... we're gonna be part of the team! woohoo! no longer sneaky and nosey med students who happened to be hanging around during ward rounds. haha... why do i hear sniggers? yeah yeah... i know i've got a whole year of housemanship to do that... and i'll prob start complaining when i really start doing them. but hey! i'm honestly excited abt it cos it's something i haven't really done before!
ok... u're really gonna think i'm mad... cos i actually enjoy ticking and writing forms... it's some fetish i think. when i was young, i used to think maybe one day i'll go work in a bank where i get to fill in those pretty deposit forms or whatever forms for clients. hahaha! wow... now it's a perfect situation! i get to study a subject i like and satisfy my fetish of filling up forms... haha! (actually i suspect after i fill my 100th form, i'll outgrow my fetish...)
isn't it also quite exciting to find out if u're hardy and strong enough to tahan through the night call and still function during ward rounds the next day? i think i can't do it... but hey! u wun know unless u try right? haha... the previous attempt of staying overnight at the labour ward and then delivering the baby only at 12pm the next day proved that i can function if there's some form of adrenaline rush. but tedious and long medicine rounds... wat adrenaline rush? die liao...
anyway, u get the idea... i embrace SIP with open arms (for now)... hopefully u dun find me complaining by the 1st week or something. haha!
