Aquarian nature...
haha... was waiting for a fren to finish tutorials so we could finally have our dinner n chitchat n decided to do some really brainless stuff... read a horoscope book in kino! hahaha!
"Aquarians are blahblah... tend to be blahblah... according to the uranus signs blahblah..." ok... why r there so many blahblahs, cos i really can't remember what it said already. haha... why bother right? they're always so vague and seemingly true. it was purely good enough for a 20-minute entertainment.
oh... but something the book said did trigger some thoughts. it said "cos of your attributes, people generally like you a lot". hmm... how important is it for one to feel likeable?
my guess is tt's pretty important... cos after all, so many ppl r striving so hard to fit in... to have ppl accept you into their circles. for myself, it's a good feeling to know u're likeable... vice versa, it's a good feeling to like someone. i hate to imagine how a life full of dislike and full of ppl hating you is like... must be really miserable...
feelings and emotions aside, the practical side of me thinks that there are definitely benefits to being well-liked. you get ppl who genuinely wanna help you out when you're in trouble. you have nice gestures from ppl to make your day wonderful. you get smiles instead of snarls from ppl. you get sincere words of advice and encouragement instead of snide or hypocritical remarks.
of course there's always some investment on your part to make. you contribute to the niceness in the world and ppl pay you back the profits plus interests. although you may disagree and say how can you use harsh monetary analogies for such things? being nice n likeable should not have anything to do with wanting something in return... haha... whatever... the practical side of me still thinks this is a very practical world.
that said, being nice should eventually come naturally and straight from the heart cos ppl can feel it if u're faking it just to gain something. tt's why i think if u're not sincere abt it, i suggest dun even try. cos really... it makes things worse...
anyway... after reading the horoscope book, i went to read this book called "101 philosophical problems". strange how the brainless horoscope book made me think more than the philosophy book. haha!
