So when will i be right?

Customers are always right?!?
i think there's a flaw in the system of our service industry. For customers who are potentially complain queens, for those with a thick wad of cash pasted on their faces, for those with connections... things get done fast. For the rest of the "commoners", things get done too but we all take our time to do them.

For some, the more we give in to their demands, the more they think they deserve the special treatment. the more we're scared of them, the more they ask for!

Especially when the organization is so hung up on those service quality certificates and minimizing bad press, they forget to protect their own staff from unreasonable demands from customers. sad state of the service industry... really.

Providing good service to ppl has to come from within the heart and it comes easily and naturally when the person u're serving is nice in the first place and truly appreciates it. good begets good... simple logic... why do so many ppl forget this?

Your Boss is always right?!?
of course in my profession where experience really counts, most of the time they should be right. more right than me at least... cos they've seen much more, gone thru much more.

but just those few times, dun u feel tt u're forced to do something against your will/principles/knowledge/understanding?

like writing blue letters referrals that makes no sense? like doing blood investigations that prob have not much yield just cos it was ordered?

sometimes it's not the boss as in my MO/Reg/consultant... but those policies and protocols set by the higher authorities. there're sooo many stupid protocols in place that thousands of ppl follow blindly in my workplace.

like 1st bolus doses of medication to be given by Doctors whereas nurses can give infusions. mind you... the very first and only anaphylactic shock i saw was due to cloxacillin INFUSION. so i don't understand the logic! if nurses can give infusions, they can give boluses too! or if u're worried of allergies, shouldn't doctors give all 1st doses then? but no... we must follow what the protocol says.

So when will i be right?
never... as long as i'm in a service industry... as long as i'm not the policy maker (which i dun intend to be... cos i think they haf a tough job too).
so what am i gonna do abt it? like all law-abiding, obedient Singaporeans, just do what i'm told to do and follow the protocols! like all who are scared of receiving a complaint letter, attend to all demands with a smile!
