Computer is dead...
my com's life is ending day by day... haaii... changed cd writer, hard disk, graphic card liao... soon... i'll be changing EVERY single part of my com until it's a new com liao! haha!
anyway, now it's really strange... i can hear windows starting up but the stupid monitor refuses to turn on. and the monitor light is orange instead of the usual yellow. and it happns intermittently. sometimes it's ok, sometimes it acts weird... i think the grahic card's spoilt... haha! a computer illiterate tryin to diagnose my computer...
time to call technician liao... haaii...
maybe time to scrap this lousy piece of metal and get a new one!

i had the same problem with my monitor sometime ago. I adjusted the power cable behind the monitor just kept pressing on the power switch of the monitor after starting up the comp. My guess is the power cable's probably is loose. I also adjusted the power settings to disable auto stand-by, to prevent the screen from changing too much. So far, the problem hasn't recurred.
dell coms are good. and they offer good customer support. at least that's what my bros say. i'm still using my good ol' space saving laptop frm yr 1..
