As abnormal as it can be...

tt's the description for my day today... lil bits of weird stuff happened today... haha!

when i entered the mrt in the morning, i unsuspectingly took a seat between 2 guys. after a while, i started smelling this really horrible smell coming from my right. after a few sniffs, it turned out to be this really fishy and stinko smell! gosh... i peered at the guy next to me inconspicuously and found out that he looks ok leh. not unkempt or anything... except he was wearing a sleeveless red t-shirt. then i thought "oh man! dun tell me he has a fishy BO?"

looking helplessly at this empty seat in the opposite row, i decided not to change seats. i suppose i better not stand up and make him look bad too. i thought "hmm... if an ah peh or ah ma comes, i can offer the seat to them... but hor... so mean. sekali they got lower threshold and faint coz of the smell how?" haha! so i just tahanned and prayed really hard that he'll get off the train soon.

when he finally did at redhill mrt, i was smiling in my heart man! and then i saw he was carrying a big bag of fish. why i know leh? coz it was dripping blood on the mrt floor when he was walking out. ewww right? ok la... at least he doesn't haf fishy BO.

anyway, e experience was so horrible and it didn't help that i was reading about palliative care in cancer patients and how their chemoreceptor trigger zone is activated such that they get nausea and vomiting. the more i read and the more i smell, the more sick i got... urgh... heng din puke my bfast out...

I wrote a msg for my mom on the fridge that went "Mom, I'll be home for lunch today. Can you help me buy or cook lunch? Or u want da bao from ttsh food court?" then sometime around 10am, she told my bro to sms me "mom bought ur lunch liao. she said u can buy the da bao for tom." I was kinda confused... she wants me to pack lunch for tom? strange...

so i called home... and she said "yeah lor! you buy the Da(4) Bao(1) for tom's breakfast lor!" HAHA!!! both of us had a good laff... kinda shows how talking over the phone or face-to-face is so much more efficient and less prone to errors.

was told to examine a patient's heart during ward rounds and report our findings. all 4 of us did it coz the auntie was sooo nice to let us take turns to examine her. and hey! i got it correct!! it was pansystolic murmur loudest over the mitral area and radiates to the axilla! the patient has mitral regurgitation! haha! 2 of my grpmates got it wrong.

hmm... i think i really have an affinity for cardio stuff. think tt happens when you really like e topic. u willingly do more of it, read more of it so in the end, u tend to be better at it compared with the rest of the disciplines. everyone shuns the ECG like mad, but i love interpreting it! it's so fun!

haha! of course the reverse is true too. i hate nephrology, so electroyte imbalances, acid-base imbalances, renal failure, etc... ARGHH!! so i usually can't answer them!

here comes the prob... to be able to get training in cardiology, i must first pass the internal medicine exams which includes nephrology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, cardiology, respiratory medicine... basically every part of the body la... haaii... tt's why till now i'm still ambivalent about specializing in cardio.
