Life can't get any better!!
My mood is at its peak today! so i decided to blog today after such a long hiatus... haha... wonder who still reads my blog. if u're still reading my blog, u deserve a prize... for perservering despite the lack of entries... haha!
lots of things that contributed to such a good mood... its been sorta cumulative too, from bits of things that happened over the past few weeks!
Firstly, it's the start of my leave and i'm leaving for taipei tomorrow! yippeee! will be shopping, eating and touring around with my sis for 6 days in taipei... itinerary has been well-planned (by me of course!) and boy! i'm so excited abt it... cos the more i read on the forums and net, the more i can't wait to visit those fantastic places and eat all those good food! haha... initially wanted to go to hongkong but chickened out cos of the few cases of flu deaths. although it seems to have died down already... oh well! no regrets! cos taipei is gonna be soooo fun too!!
Next thing... my work in the gym and training has paid off... i can literally feel myself becoming much much fitter and healthier! been adding on kilometres on the threadmill... and the last record was 4km non-stop and it felt like NOTHING!! (ok... army guys u can stop sniggering... i know 4 km is chicken to u guys.. hey! u're talking abt me who used to hate running and would never even try to cover 1km k?!) No muscle aches after that somemore!! looks like i can aim to run the standard chartered marathon someday!
That's why it's a great decision made to join the dragonboat team! with the motivation from my fellow teammates, i'm challenging myself to greater heights in terms of fitness! big thanks to wq! for jio-ing me into the team! haha!
Well, i've always been a sickly child... was actually exempted from PE when i was pri 1 to 2 cos of childhood asthma. and for CCA, i've been in band all my school life. It was definitely a wonderful experience to be in band but I've always wondered what it felt like to belong to a sports team/group... so i'm really glad i managed to get a chance to try that out this lifetime!
The dragonboat race we had 3 weeks ago was quite an eye-opener for me! With that, i saw for myself the importance of team spirit and fitness for the team to function and excel as one. Dunno how to describe it... but it was such a wholesome experience... Though we din win anything in the end, it definitely brought the whole team together and enabled us to see what we wanna aim towards in future races!
Work is going quite well... life's always much better towards the end of a posting. at the start, we're all like blur sotongs whereas at the end, we're more familiar with the job, the people. Quite sad actually... BUT heyhey! not for me, cos i've decided to stay on for another 6 months in this department! well, it helps that so far the responses from my seniors are rather positive when i told them i'm staying on... unless they're all actually practising a lot of tact, of course. (nehmind... self-delusion is the key to happiness.)
Still not really sure anaesthesia is for me... like i said before, job satisfaction is very impt to me. currently, i do find satisfaction when i give anaesthesia or do procedures successfully. The satisfaction is rather short-lived though... as compared to those i get from the medical wards. However, i found out that having enough free time to pursue my other interests is quite impt too and anaesthesia allows me to do that. For example, going to gym and training when i was in gastro would have been totally impossible.
Nevermind... i'm gonna stay on for another 6 months and hopefully during this 6 months, i'll be tasked with more responsibilities and maybe i'll be able to gauge my real preference soon.
Alright! Till my next entry... (which will prob be abt my taipei trip!)
