Busy like a bee...

Wah! this must be the most un-relaxing leave i'm having so far... i've never been so stressed up during a leave before. All thanks to the upcoming chinese new year! Actually i'm thankful i managed to get leave during this time cos i realized there's so much preparation to do... sheesh...

The most terrible thing is looking for new year clothes! haha! Should blame myself for not listening to my mom and start stocking up earlier. i scoured through the entire marina, raffles city and orchard road and still couldn't find a decent dress on saturday! there is something really wrong with the fashion nowadays... what's with the baggy short dresses and leggings? absolutely can't imagine myself in that! was getting really stressed up... thought i'll end up wearing some old jeans and t-shirt liao... luckily i managed to find not 1 but 2 dresses on monday! PHEW!

anyway, besides looking for the dresses, i also ended up adding a pair of levi's jeans, a zara top and an espirit top to my wardrobe. oops! the shopaholic is back with a vengeance eh? (btw, i survived the whole of january without shopping for nonsense and managed to shrink my expenditure to just 600 bucks! woohoo! but looks like i'm gonna be back to square one now... :P)

Plus of course i had to do something to my ugly and frizzy curls otherwise i better start digging a hole at home and stay in there for the whole of the new year season. (on the usual days, i'm in my shower cap at work so couldn't be bothered to do anything abt it... :P) anyway, after a good 4-hr bumache in the salon, voila! i now have straight and neat hair! even added a slight tinge of colour to it... though according to my sis and mom, they can hardly see the colour. :( well, if u stare hard enough under strong lighting, u can see a lil bit of brownish violet. (self-delusion is the key to happiness... haha!)

Not to mention the pedicure, a trip to my dermatologist and eye-brow trimming... yeah... this is what happens when everything is left to the last minute. haven't had time to do anything of those in weeks so just hafta squeeze everything into this leave!

Clearing up my room was another big battle! i spent the whole morning doing that today... never knew how much clutter and excess baggage i've accumulated over the year until today! problem with springcleaning is u can't be too emotional on that day... cos u'll end up keeping everything... haha! sometimes i come across a nice souvenier from a friend in my drawer and i think abt all the good memories we had and how sweet she was to get me something while travelling. i'll feel like keeping it but then, it's all rusted and the paint has come off already. oh well, just hafta harden my heart and dump it! otherwise i might as well be a garang guni woman already.

haha! i've been busy trying out the new year goodies at home too... well, someone's gotto "test-run" them and know which one to recommend to the visitors right? (heh...excuses...) the truth is the almond biscuits, pineapple tarts and ba kua all look way too irresistible. perfect for munching while watching tv or reading a book!

it's only been 4 days of since my leave started... i feel like i've done lots and lots of things! all the above plus training, met frens for meals and even watched a movie! haha! my all-time favourite quote... "time management means you manage time and not let time manage you!"
